Inspiration-the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.
I got to play a fun one last week with my Ole Pal Travis Brink. He's one of those guys that doesn't allow me to be prepared for my turn.
And what that means is this.
I play a lot of song swaps, you know where I play a song, then the other guy plays a song. And most of the time I can play that game pretty good, you know feed off the other writer. I can usually pick one of my tunes to flow along with theirs. Like it's show we may have even planned.
Not with Travis.
I get caught up watching and listening.
And BAM! It's my turn and I'm not prepared.
At that show last weekend I didn't even look out towards the crowd until our first set was almost over. I was too busy trying to stay on point with my new stuff.
Speaking of new stuff, Travis has a new tune out called "Afternoon Stars". Check it out, it's great.
